Kelly over at Kelly's Korner is doing a fun feature called "Show Us How You Live" and today's topic is asking what your typical day is like. Since I know you are all DYING to know what a typical day in the life of a graphic designer for a liquor distributor is like, I will now grant all your unspoken desires, and share.
6:24am - Alarm goes off. Hit snooze until 6:44 (I can't wake up on 5's or 0's (ie 6:25, 6:30), it makes me feel ucky inside!) I rush to get ready, and out the door by 7:33am in order to make it to work by 8!
8:00am - 11am - Typically spent writing up orders, sending them to brand managers for $amount approval, and designing jobs. (You can visit my other blog, House of Booze, to see some of my work!) Around 10am our sales reps began to make their way to work. It's not unusual for a handful to come hang out in my office and complain about their hangovers, or talk about how ridiculous their promo's were last night.
12pm - Eat lunch at my desk, I don't "take" a lunch because I like to only work 8-4 haha. I sneak in some time to catch up on my blogs!
1-4pm: More working on banners/posters/table tents/etc; aka "making pretty pictures with alcohol bottles". I usually have 1 or 2 fights with my computer in which Photoshop or Illustrator crashes and we exchange hateful words.
My favorite days are sales meeting Fridays. This is when ALL of our reps, brand managers, etc gather into the meeting room right outside my office, and I get to hear about all the new liquor flavors/brands coming out! They typically do tastings, so it's not surprising to look out and see people doing shots at 10am. (PS don't tell anyone I told you... but we have a Cotton Candy flavored Vodka coming out soon, not going to lie, it's pretty tasty!) I really do have the oddest job! Hah I love it though
Occasionally there are launch parties and all that good stuff that ChrisChris and I will go to in the evening. We don't have a normal evening routine at all though, so I won't even attempt that one!
Update - It's 10:59am, they are having a wine meeting out there (my company distributes both wine & liquor) and I was just brought a sample of a sauv blanc by one of my reps. How funny I was just mentioning that sales meeting Friday's were my favorite. Yes, I do get to sample on the clock, my job has some great perks! ;)

Okay this is crazy...I have a weird thing about getting up at times then end in 5's or 0's too! When I set my alarm I always make it for something that ends in like a 2 or 7...STRANGE!!! I also leave the house at 7:33 to make it to work by 8...kinda weird ha!
P.S. Your job sounds fun :)
