Happy to hear that Indiana's gay marriage ban was just ruled unconstitutional. Frankly, let people love. Encourage them to love. Who cares who they love... it's a hell of a lot better than encouraging people to hate.

Relieved
to report Olivia had another round of scans at Riley yesterday, and they're still showing no change. Every day the cancer doesn't reappear is another day to celebrate in my opinion! I hope we are celebrating for a VERY long time. Every scan makes me incredibly anxious, I'm not sure it will ever get easier!

Obsessed with Sam Hunt. Speakers and Leave the Night On are my favorite. Go listen. GO!

Giddy about heading down to Jamaica this weekend. It may be my second home, and I may go there WAY too much, but the excitement to be back never fades. I miss it all the time.

Confused about relationships, the male species, my trajectory, everything really involving that aspect of life ha. But what's new. I think I've just been over-thinking it lately, a little too much over-analyzing perhaps?!

Snacking on cherry tomatoes from my tomato plant I've been growing on my porch. May be a tad geeky, but I love that feeling of 'hey, I grew this!' when I'm eating my tomatoes or my strawberries!

Wondering if I'll ever grow out of the 'middle of the afternoon ice cream run' stage, at 26 it's still going strong though

Wearing hot pink pants and 6" wedges. Sometimes you just need a little extra vavoom to get you through your Wednesday

Working on a post regarding the gazillions of questions you all ask me in terms of saving for vacations, cheap traveling, how I go so often, etc, etc. There's just so much to share, haven't figured out how to organize it yet. My post about flying on the cheap is still live though, so feel free to refer to that in the mean time!

Scheduling doctors appointments and MRI's. As much as I had hoped to leave my medically laden 2013 behind me, it's unfortunately followed me into 2014

Cussing at the weather. It was high 70s on Sunday, and snowing this morning. Snow. What in the literal hell?

Patting myself on the back after going over my yearly review with my boss on Friday, I've been busting my arse ever since I took over the design department here at the house of booze a few years ago, and it's so nice being praised for my hard work and effort!

Cleaning up the mess I just made peeling & devouring an orange at my desk. It looks as if a toddler spilled an entire cup of orange juice everywhere.

Rocking out to Lionel Richie. What? Sometimes when Dancing on the Ceiling pops up you just let it happen.

Reminiscing to this time last year, I was still out of work following my lung operation, and I distinctly remember being glued to the television as the Boston bombing events unfolded.

Looking forward to a weekend in town. The past few weeks have been spent in Lousiville, Chicago, Las Vegas and Louisville again... to say I miss logging consecutive days in my bed is an understatement.

Craving fried chicken.

And I think I'll just go ahead and bow out on that note.

rocking out to the #ThrowbackThursday playlist on Spotify. A little Gettin' Jiggy With It just makes my Thursday morning SO much better.  Can we all just admit the world was a better place when Big Will had a rap career?

snacking on salt and vinegar chips. Although I guess you could call it breakfast, since I've not eaten anything else today. beacon.of.health.

battling a head cold. or something. Ridiculous congestion that lasts for 8 weeks probably is more than that but, I'm boycotting doctors offices in 2014 so we may never know

wondering if Steven Tyler still rocks that silk scarf? The Armageddon song just came on this playlist, and I can't help but laugh. And then crave animal crackers.

counting pennies to see if I could swing another trip into my 2014 calendar. What began as a joke about fleeing off to Ireland following St Patricks Day (my BUSIEST holiday here at the house of booze, which also equates to my most hated holiday) has turned into a SERIOUS lust to visit Dublin. And to do so alone. I want to prove to myself that I don't need someone else to travel with me, that I can enjoy my own company abroad (<< big scary thing to face)

disappointed in my tax refund. I generally overpay throughout the year and get a nice little bonus come April 14th, but some things changed, some withholdings were not withheld and my nice little surprise is more-so a disappointment this year. (Convenient, considering my last bullet point. Boo)

looking forward to a girls night tonight. The frigid temperatures have caught up with me, and I find myself turning down invitations to do things more often than not... so I'm finally revisiting my social life ha

anticipating a little closet challenge I've brought upon myself. I feel like I've been stuck in a rut of wearing the same handful of outfits over and over, so I've decided I'm going to try to wear every top in my closet once before I can wear it again. We'll see how that goes ha. But somehow just the mental psyche of it being a "challenge" makes me eager to do it

counting down to spring and warmer temps. I never though I'd say it, but I genuinely am getting tired of wearing boots

ignoring phone calls. I answer for three people: my mom, my dad, and my doctor. Anyone else... decline. I hate nothing more than talking on the phone.

listening to a playlist titled "Tan Lines and Tailgates"... ironic if you consider the 4" of snow and negative temperatures outside.

planning on going the entire month of January without shopping* (necessities not included, don't worry I'm not giving up toilet paper for the new year)

scouring the internet for the perfect flight path to get from Indy to Thailand, with a fun stop or two in between

pretending I already finished posting about Australia on the blog. I just got bored of writing about it. Which sucks because it was the most amazing trip, I'm just struggling to put it into words

drinking the last of a green monster I made this morning. I missed how much more energy I had when I drank these regularly

smiling about the ampersand order I just received. I love doodling these little guys

anticipating tax season. Is that weird? I just love the perks (ahem refunds) of owning a home

struggling with this work week. The holidays have made my job VERY slow.

tasting soy chai latte. i'm not even anti-dairy but what is it about soy that makes tea so much tastier?

smelling like a smorgasbord of perfume. I forgot I wore Tom Ford yesterday, and sprayed on TokyoMilk today. Much to my surprise I'm kind of digging the mix though. (Who showers daily. Ain't nobody got time for that)

eagerly awaiting australia. Five weeks from today!

listening to tom petty & the heartbreakers. probably all day long. it's one of those days.

debating taking this braid out. I have a serious complex when I wear a braid, I feel like such a child.

making an effort to cook more. It's easier (and honestly cheaper half the time, since I'm not a fan of leftovers) to eat out... but I truly think I enjoy this whole 'cooking' thing. It's kind of fun to me!?

giggling at this debate i'm having with a friend regarding my self-proclaimed introverted personality. He disagrees. This might actually need it's own blog post.

learning to just BE happy because I decide to be, and ignore any/all outside factors

wondering why certain people have crossed my path, and what their role is in the 'big picture'

realizing that my birthday is only 10 days away, and I have zero excitement about it

anticipating my follow-up appointment with my surgeon next week. i've tried to get in touch with him twice regarding symptoms, with no return phone call warranted. not a happy camper

wanting to completely redo my upstairs bathroom. paint, floors, new sink, the whole shebang. yikes.

smiling that it's baby Friday, and another weekend is well on it's way!

watching Gossip Girl. and Orange is the New Black. But mostly just my eyelids (what? TV puts me to sleep)
drinking Rooibee Red Vanilla Chai tea nonstop. No seriously. I keep my fridge stocked.
wearing chucks and keds. lots of chucks and keds.
listening to a lot of Tom Petty. I was born a few decades too late.
eating far too much sea salt caramel gelato.
enjoying being on the go nonstop. I really do hate sitting around.
thrilled that the flowers I planted in mid-May are still alive and thriving.
cleaning my closet out. again.
excited about going to the state fair to pig out. If the gallB lets me, that is.
reading about all the preservatives and chemicals that go into food nowadays. Scary.
laughing at this youtube clip. I crylaugh. Every time.
feeling like pretty-fying my house again. For the first time since pre-lung pop.
believing putting good juju into the world.
loving on Russell lately. He's mellowed out so much lately.
