Chelsea's Shopping Now!

After I heard my offer on the house was accepted I immediately started dreaming of decor....

In the very near future I will have 11 rooms to furnish! I will soon be able to pick out a couch to lounge on, a rug to squish between my toes and an end table to sit my morning coffee on!

So imagine my excitement when I was contacted by CSN Stores to do a product review! I'm not exactly sure what CSN really stands for, but I'm thinkin it means CHELSEA'S SHOPPING NOW!

Seriously though, they have some super cute things!
How cute would this doormat be by the back door?Or wouldn't this decorative bowl look super chic on a kitchen island or a coffee table?
And wouldn't these two pillows look super cozy on a big overstuffed tan couch!?

I haven't decided what item I'm going to choose but I can't wait to share it with you when I do!

Where oh where is October?

Going into it I knew October would be a whirlwind, but when I posted about my busy month the thought that I would throw 'buying a house' into that 5 week schedule never even crossed my mind!

I promise I'm alive and kicking! Thanks to those of you who tracked me down via email and Facebook!

I've been celebrating my 23rd, spent a long weekend in Vegas, and been trekking my way through the home-buying process just to throw a few highlights out there. I can't wait to tell you about my LV trip and my big wins, and all of the goodies I got for my birthday!

But for now I must get back to work, OND is our busiest time and this year is doing it's best to make it even busier than the one before!

Miss you!

30DBC : Day 6

Day 6: A picture of something that makes you smile

This was a hard one! I was going through my iPhoto library and there's a ton of pictures that make me smile - all for their own reasons!

Some because of the people in them, some because of where they were taken, some because of the memories behind them....

I finally settled on this one.

My cousin took this photo of me while we were on vacation down in Navarre Beach, FL a few years ago. We rented a big beach house and had a blast that week. Family and friends. I love the beach, I love vacations, love all the fun times we had on that trip and I love this picture in general!

Accepted!

Remember this post a few weeks ago? Remember this house?
You were all introduced to house #2. He was a real looker, everyone loved his charm plus he was an older man but I was concerned about his... you know... non-endowed kitchen.

Well I am very excited to say that after heavy consideration, deep talks, moonlit strolls along the park trails... me and house #2 are going steady.

Yep, last week was spent signing and sending offers and counter offers. And then Friday it was settled!

I've got big plans for this cozy cottage, I can't wait to make them come true!

I'm still a tad afraid to get TOO excited though, we have to get past the home inspection Thursday morning then I may become house-crazy around these parts! Don't say I didn't warn you!

30dBC : Day 5

I've decided to play along when I have time, so most of my posts probably won't coincide with the actual day Katie has on her blog. I hope she doesn't mind!

Day 5 : your siblings

My big bubby is 5 years, 5 months and 5 days older than me. And can I tell you, that must be the perfect amount of time to space your kids out, because we almost always got along. I can't recall a single time we didn't!

[Brandin and I on my 22nd birthday]

[Conquering Ikea together at mom's salon]

[A little Rock Band silliness last Christmas]

Then 3 years ago, my bubby gave me a sister! It's fitting that I didn't have a chance to post this until now, because they are celebrating their 3rd wedding anniversary today!

30DBC : Day 4

Day 4 : your parents
Well, here they are - my tri-lettered parents, Bob & Pam!
(Papa, me and mama in Navarre Beach)

My parents have been together for 28 years! That's a rarity in today's society!

Some of my fun facts:
- my parents always called me Fred for some reason... Bucket Head Fred to be exact
- I got my addiction passion for travel from them, I can't remember a year that we didn't take atleast one family vacation
- they used to always have parties when us kids were little... I remember the stereo in the living room would be so loud you couldn't even go in there. Every time I hear a Steve Miller Band song I say "this reminds me of my childhood!"
- my parents have a very 'do it yourself' attitude. I'm pretty sure between the two of them they can scheme up, build or fix anything.
-because of their jobs I love any smell that reminds me of a car body shop or a hair salon! (Yep, brake parts cleaner and perm solution get me every time!)
-everyone thinks my dad is "hilarious" and my mom is "so creative!"
-they pretty much rock
-I'm their favorite child ;) (Just kidding bubby!)

30dBC : Day 3

Day 3 : your first love
Chris might cringe reading this one, but my first love was my high school boyfriend - B. We were only together for a little under two years, but we had a lot of good times and learned a lot about love together! Of course, were young and trying to grow up together. He ended up graduating high school and getting into partying and made a few choices, uh, not in our relationship's best interest!

I won't lie and say it wasn't tough - sure I was only like 18 but I'm pretty sure being cheated on sucks regardless of your age! If I learned one thing from B though, it was forgiveness. After a lengthy period of not speaking to him (understandably!) I slowly began chatting with him, and we actually became really good friends.

I truly believe that some things just aren't meant to be, and am pretty easy going and try to remain friends with most people after break-ups. B and I hung out pretty regularly for a good 2 or 3 years.

Most of my (girl) friends went away to college, so when I turned 21 I would occasionally go out to the bars with B and his friends on the weekends. In fact, I met Chris through B! Sadly, B wasn't a fan of us getting together (I think he may have thought our friendship was going to turn back into what we used to have) and stopped talking to both Chris and I shortly thereafter....

30DBC : Day 2

Day 2 : meaning behind your blog name
When I first started my internship (at the company I now work full-time for) I couldn't find my way around if my life depended on it. Our office building started out as an old school and has been added onto umpteen times. Needless to say it's like a game of real life chutes and ladders every time you turn a corner. I was so afraid to go to someone's office because I swore I wouldn't be able to find my way back to my own desk!

One of the first 'paths' I hammered down was from my desk to the front office to drop off packages that needed mailed out. I was always greeted with a friendly "Well hello miss Chelsea, how are you doin today?!" from LaVonda, or forever-cheery receptionist.

It always made me giggle when she said it, and for some reason I always find myself repeating her tone in my head as I walked back to my office. When I transferred my personal blog over from Cream & Cotton (my craft blog) that just sorta stood out in my head, and stuck!

Somewhere along the line I picked up the habit of calling people "mister" or "miss". I'm so full of "yes sir's" and "thank you ma'am's" you'd swear I was a Southern belle!

30DBC : Day 1

Ya'll shoulda known I can't NOT jump on a bandwagon like this! So here I am, joining the likes of 2/3rds of you (and Katie, whom I'm a new follower of!) for the 30 Day Blog Challenge

I'm a little late joining in, but here goes nothin!

Day 1 : introduce / recent picture / 15 interesting facts
Hi lovelies! I won't insult your intelligence by telling you my name... I'm going to assume you'll figure it out at some point, if you haven't already!

(takin shortly before I chopped my hair off)

1. I really wanted to be a mailman when I was younger... it was like my dream job (thank goodness I grew out of that stage!)

2. I'd much rather watch true reality tv (NatGeo, History Channel, etc) than 'reality tv' (Jersey Shore, Real World)

3. I really enjoy finding/inventing new recipes & baking

4. I don't really ever like to eat anything that I bake.

5. I would much rather have salty or savory snacks than sweets.

6. I absolutely love to sew and make quilts

7. On that note - I'm pretty sure I'm a 60some year old woman stuck in a 22 year old's body!

8. I just recently tried and became addicted to guacamole

9. I know how to play piano (took lessons for a few years) and the french horn (middle school band)

10. I could watch How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days over and over

11. I get unfairly frustrated when people use "their/there/they're" or "your/you're" incorrectly.

12. I am a denim-aholic. I blame it on working at The Buckle for a multitude of months - I can (and usually will) identify what jeans any given person has on.

13. I have breakfast every Sunday morning and dinner every Monday night with my grandpa. I will never make any other plans on those days if I can help it!

14. I watch the news every morning. If I don't see it before work, I'll browse it online when I get to work. I don't like not knowing what's going on in the world around me

15. I name most things I come in contact with (a bug that's in my car - Manfred. My car itself - Cammie. A plane on the runway - Poindexter, I could go on and on!) I'm not sure why I personify everything, but I've done it for as long as I can remember.

Since I'm a few days behind, I'm going to try to catch up tonight or tomorrow, I'll apologize ahead of time for the abundance of posts hitting your Reader!

Humbling

My brother shared this link with me yesterday, The Global Richlist. It's humbling to say the least - my line of work is FAR from being glamorous and high-paying, and I often grumble and make jokes about it! But after looking at it from this perspective I really am incredibly thankful.

I'm willing to take a guess that most of us are in the 10% of the world! It makes my heart sad to think that 90% of the world is living with (often times) way, way less than I have.

Check it out - what'd you think? How do you rank?

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters
Soo many things to write about so I'm joining in with Carissa and Miscellany Mondays! It was a great weekend, even though I was battling a head cold!

[one] ChrisChris got a promotion at work! He interviewed for the new position a few weeks ago, and just received official notice this morning that he was selected!

[two] I made Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cupcakes for tailgating yesterday using this recipe from Annie's Eats.
I kind-of loved them, but the 'cookie dough' filling creeped me out... I don't like stuff in the middle of my cupcakes! I think I'll leave that out next time. I did try to 'pipe' the frosting on with a Ziploc baggie though, quite an upgrade from my spatula-smeared icing of the past.

[three] We celebrated my cousin's wife's birthday Saturday night. It was good to see everyone. I played beer pong for the first time in a while this weekend, I forgot how much fun that stupid game is! I was driving, so I let Chris drink my beer, I just did the 'shooting'! Good times, good times

[four] My aunt & uncle came over for dinner Friday night and I made two different kinds of pizza (check that off my 23-before-23 list!) I will share with you my recipes and feedback later in the week.

[five] Our boys in blue brought home another W yesterday! It wasn't pretty, but a win is a win! (Hehe that picture is a few years old, but I still love it! It's not everyday you run into a SuperBowl Champion quarterback downtown!)

[six] I'm on the hunt for a perfect pair of skinny jeans (for tucking into boots). Any opinions/suggestions are welcome! I bought a pair from Gap, but I can't say I'm crazy about them (they just don't fit me right...)

[seven] If you participated in our Snuggle Up Scarf Swap that Mateya and I hosted, and haven't linked up to show off your scarf yet, what are you waiting on?! Head over here now and link up!

That's all I've got for today ladies. Hope you have a wonderful Monday!

Thoughtless Thursday : My helmet

We went by Chris' storage unit last night to un-bury his couch and love seat (he sold them to someone I work with). While he was doing heavy lifting, I supervised... and spotted something fun. One of our helmets from our Double Dare costume last year! Then my cell phone rang and I got sidetracked and forgot I even had it on. Chris, however, apparently found it to be the perfect photo opportunity. (Yes, I did block out my license plate... I'm not a fan of stalkers and what not)

Join in on the Thoughtless fun over at Katie's blog!

Super Snuggly!

Yesterday when I got home from work I had a little white package waiting for me!
It was my scarf from Aubrey! Aren't you jealous?! It's so soft and snuggly! It comes at a perfect time too because my throat just started yesterday so now I can keep it all warm and cozy and hope this dang sore throat goes away!

Have you gotten your scarf yet? Don't forget to link up to this post so we can all see what each other got!
And if you didn't participate, you can still venture over to check out all the cuddly goodness you missed out on!

Hey shorty!

A couple of you noticed on the calendar picture yesterday I had a hair appointment scheduled! Kudos to you sleuth's!

I've been talking for a while... and I finally took the plunge and chopped it off!

A couple of you noticed on the calendar picture yesterday I had a hair appointment scheduled!

I've been talking for a while... and I took the plunge and chopped it off! I was goingto go a little longer, but realized if I went this length I could donate to Locks of Love, so that's the route we went!

I am having so much fun playing with it - it can be floofed up to super volume (ie Kimberly Caldwell) or sleeked down like I've got it this morning...and there's a couple peek-a-boo blonde streaks on the side too, I'll try to get some better pictures tonight on my camera, I just snapped these in a hurry this morning!

What d'yah think?! Eeekk my hair hasn't been this short in about 6 years!

Whoa October... whoa.

We're only 5 days into the month and October is already overwhelming me! I love that my birthday month has 5 weekends to it, but phew they are wearing me out just thinking about them!

I went to add something to the calendar on my phone this morning and froze immediately... look at this!
5 whole days that I don't have SOMETHING going on! Five. Out of 31. That is insane!
So... what are all the braille dots for? (And don't act like that's not what you think of when you see this) Here are a couple things I'm most looking forward to....

[touchdowns] a Sunday full of tailgating then watching the boys in blue at Lucas Oil Stadium

[vows] A friend from high school and her military mister's wedding is at a cute little winery the 16th
[candles] I'll be celebrating my 23rd birthday on the 20th! (That photo is from my 21st birthday)

[jet-setting and betting] I'm taking off to Vegas to spend a few days with this pretty lady and to experience the Sin City for the first time!

Is your October as crazy as mine is? I thought August was supposed to be the hectic month, but the Libra month is out to prove me wrong!

Tick tock

I have been restraining from shopping much lately, although I did make a recent purchase I'm incredibly proud of... this awesome fuchsia Fossil watch I snatched up at TJ Maxx the other day.

It's still on Fossil's site listed for $85, but I got it for practically pennies. Ok, it was 35.00 but still... hellloo! LOVE IT!

I have to get a link taken out, so I haven't been able to don my little pink piece of paradise, but soon ladies... soon!

Have no fear, I'm not divorcing Mr. Kors... I'm still lusting after this bad boy from my Thing's I'm Not (yet) Going to Buy post!
(The Maxx near me had one pink, one teal and one orange Fossil watch... so maybe check your local one out if you're interested!)
