Thoughtless Thursday : My helmet

We went by Chris' storage unit last night to un-bury his couch and love seat (he sold them to someone I work with). While he was doing heavy lifting, I supervised... and spotted something fun. One of our helmets from our Double Dare costume last year!Then my cell phone rang and I got sidetracked and forgot I even had it on. Chris, however, apparently found it to be the perfect photo opportunity. (Yes, I did block out my license plate... I'm not a fan of stalkers and what not)

Thoughtless Thursday : Giveaways & Grub

Thoughtless Thursday this week calls for a numbered list!

1. I've won two giveaways in the past week... I think Brittany sent some of her good luck my way (after she won like 83 giveaways last month!)

First I won this fun bunch of goodness from Michelle (seriously, how cute is that notebook)

and then this morning as I'm making my way down my Reader list, I notice that I also won the Flirty Apron giveaway from Taylor! Pretty sure I'm gonna go with either the cupcake one or the black & white one...

2. Tonight we're going to indulge in some $0.50 boneless wings from good 'ol BDubs with our newlywed friends, Kenny & Amanda. They got married in Mexico (we weren't able to go because it was the same week we were down in Jamaica! Sad face)

3. My birthday is coming up in about a month... and I'm excited about the possibility of going to visit my long lost lovely, Jenn, in her new Vegas home!

(If you don't already follow her blog, JAGged Little Life, you probably should! You can see a ridiculous photo of me in her most recent post... I'm getting ready to go snowboard, I swear I don't typically dress like that!)

4. ChrisChris and my brother are playing in some intermural football league this Saturday. Lord help them, I have a feeling they're gonna get hurt hah! (But I secretly think it's really cute they hang out, and I love that my big bubby gets along with Chris so well!)

5. I'm going to see Mary Poppins, The Musical, with my mom this Sunday. I haven't been to a musical in forever, and even though Mary Poppins wasn't my favorite Disney movie (Cinderella was) I'm still really excited about it!

6. In additional to the bargain I got on my dress for vacation, I also got a steal on some Steve Madden over the knee boots... details to come later! I can't wait to wear them... I never thought I would say this, but I wish this 90degree weather would migrate south for the year!

For me?!

Has anyone seen little Mrs. Fulmer around bloggyland? I just tried to go to her blog to see if she had put up the McLinky and blogger is telling me it's been deleted... help!

So yesterday about 2 in the afternoon the receptionist called me and asked me to come up to her office. I figured it was because our lil mailbox was full and she wanted me to get the junk out of it! (hehe oops, there's never anything in there except mine & my bosses' paycheck stubs!)

I jog up the stairs, around 18 corners and head towards the front of the building (yes, I really do work in a maze) and as soon as I round the corner into her office I see the cheeriest bouquet of flowers wrapped up in cellophane on the desk.
That little stinker got me again! I love 'em! What girl wouldn't enjoy getting flowers randomly delivered to her office?!

I joked with him last night that he only sent them in hopes of me putting it on the blog! How could I not?! He turned to me in the car on the way to dinner, with this sheepish grin on his face and said "you posted that text message from me on your blog and now all your invisible friends think I'm just the sweetest guy ever!". What a brat!

i Magazine clippings

For some reason, ever since I got an iPhone many moons ago I developed an odd habit of using it as a handheld, traveling magazine clipping gallery.

It was really bad when I worked at the hair salon on Saturdays and spent all day browsing magazines!

If there's an outfit I want to replicate...
If I saw something I liked I'd snap a picture, as if to remind myself to buy it...If I saw something I wanted to remember when I'm decorating my own place down the line...And even if I saw something that reminded me of Chris (he has a side business painting)
Am I only the only person who does this?!

Then later on down the road I flip through my photo gallery and get all sorts of fashion & home decor inspiration! It's become a habit to just snap a photo on my phone if I like something, my thoughtless way of remembering it!!

The one about the driver's ed incident

This week I'm dedicating Thoughtless Thursday to a thoughtless little 16 year old.

Last week, Chris had gone to the BMV after work to get a new license (due to the placement of the holograph, EVERYONE thinks his says his year of birth is 1932 instead of 1982!) and renew his plates.

Shortly after I got home from work, I got a text from him saying "my car just got hit in the bmv parking lot by a girl taking her driving test" accompanied with this picture

After a few "shut up seriously..."s (I mean c'mon what are the chances!?) I said what any concerned girlfriend would say.... "Well, I hope they didn't pass her!"

So as the story goes, Chris was just finished up and walking out to his car, he saw the girl park and she was awfully close to his car, so she began to back up to correct her parking job. She cut the wheel a LITTLE too tight, and Chris watched the Driver's Ed Instructor screaming "STOP! STOP!" however, little miss super sweet 16 apparently chose to ignore her advice and CRUNCH, poor Kit (yes, Chris' car got a name courtesy of moi) got a nice, fairly deep scratch across both doors on the driver's side.

But get this... the girl said NOTHING to Chris. Not a word. She didn't apologize, she hardly even acknowledged she did something wrong! I don't know about you, but if that was me I would have been bawling and apologizing profusely!

I guess the cop really ripped into her, not to mention the instructor let her have it. Poor girl, her insurance rates are going up and she doesn't even have a learner's permit in her possession anymore!

Helllloooo warm weather!

Ahh, summertime. Spencedog may be more spoiled than anyone!  

(PS My mom's a hairstylist, in case you're sitting there thinkin 'dang this chick has different colored hair in every photo!)

Thoughtless Thursday

I pulled out my good ol MacBook when I got home from work today -- truth is, ever since I got my iPhone a few years ago and then graduated college last year this thing doesn't get used much... well aside from online shopping ;)

Needless to say I'm a habitual dragger. IE I find photos of outfits, shoes, fabric, quilts, food, whatever that I like and I drag them to my desktop. My desktop was literally FULL. Like, I couldn't even see my wallpaper so I did a little spring cleaning. Now she's a little cleaner and looks like this...

(I took this photo while in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic a few years ago on Spring Break. That's a real shipwrecked ship... pretty gorgeous huh?!)

Wait, what was I getting at again? Oh yea, I saw over on Katie's blog a fun feature called Thoughtless Thursday and decided to join in with some photos I found on my desktop in a folder cleverly titled "SORT THROUGH" (I have the best of intentions, honest)

So here we go... I helped my mom put together a black & white photo wall for the living room and these are some of the pictures we used...
