Make it my Own Mondays

It's MiMO day!!
Last week you got to see Holly & I's first foray into Making it My Own... our little challenge to take Pinned outfits and, well, make 'em our own!

This week Holly picked out a super casual look for us involving stripes.
I. Love. Stripes.
So clearly, I was pumped for a chance to recreate this outfit!

This past weeks' inspiration outfit:

And here's how I made it my own:
I switched up the colors a bit but stuck with the same pieces, swapping out the black jeans for a distressed pair and the tan sweater for an olive green one.

I struggle with NOT wearing a scarf once the weather cools down. I seriously incorporate them into my outfit everyday. I think I may need therapy.

  Green Sweater: Target (SO SOFT!)
Grey Striped Tee: American Eagle (super old)
Skinny Jeans: American Eagle
Boots: Madden Girl (DSW)
Scarf: gift
Watch: Michael Kors

I tried the tall boot socks that peek out the top... but uh they weren't very flattering. I'm sorta bummed because I love that look! I think maybe I need to cheat and get the boot-toppers, because the super tall socks just looked awkward.

I spent most of my Saturday running errands and baking goodies for the Halloween Party, so this outfit was perfect! I'm loving that it's just as comfy to wear something like this as it is to wear a slouchy hoodie, jeans & tennis shoes.

Don't forget to go see how Holly made it her own!

My greatest Halloween costume ever

I think it's time to dedicate an entire post to one of my proudest creations:

The Double Dare costumes

Growing up I can't remember a single time that my parents bought my brother or I a Halloween costume. They were always handmade... it only seemed fitting to carry on the tradition into my adult years!

Armed with a grocery cart full of plain red shirts and shorts, elbow & knee pads, iron on printer paper, orange fabric, lime green paint, plastic drinking glasses and bicycle helmets I set to work on our costumes

In an attempt to give credit where credit was due... my dad took our origianly idea of simply hot glueing the cups to the helmets a step further and worked his fatherly magic creating some seriously good looking Double Dar helmets! (Don't ask me how he did it... there was a grinder and bondo of some sort involved)

Our costumes were a huge hit,  I can't tell you how many people have asked if they could have them. To which my response is basically hell no. (Heh what just being honest)

Somewhere in the past two years since being DD contestants all the components have turned up missing, so who knows if the DoubleDare costume will ever get to live out it's glory again... but my trusty helmet is in the trunk of my car! Never know when you may want to bust that bad boy out!

Go Red Team!! Pie in the pants, pie in the pants!

So What Wednesday

It's my favorite blog day of the week!

So What Wednesday
Link up with Life After I "Dew" if you wanna dish too!

So what if the prosecutor called me yesterday afternoon to basically tell me I'm driving on a suspended license. Because I didn't pay my ticket that was apparently due 10/22. I reminded her that I didn't pay because I'm getting it deferred... and I never received the freakin paperwork detailing my deferral process because apparently the cop has yet to turn the ticket in?? Gnarly.

So what if I literally bribed myself to get outta bed this morning with the promise of getting to wear my new boots.

So what if I am extremely happy I FINALLY ended my 'perfect gray OTK boot search'. At Kohl's of all places. I am not usually a fan of Kohls... but after sales and coupons I got these little puppies for somewhere around $38! (For anyone interested, they are Elle but I can't find them on Kohl's website. They were marked down to like $53 in stores this past weekend!)

So what if I got into work this morning and immediately turned Bob Marley on. On my computer. To drown out what my supervisor has playing on the radio. I cannot handle screaming rock, sorry.

So what if it SERIOUSLY ticks me off that I've made it VERY clear I don't like that music yet he continues to put it on the radio in the office we share EVERY day. Is that not just plain rude!?

So what if I just sprinted to the radio to turn it down a few notches when he got up to go to the bathroom HAHAH!

So what if I had such a blah day yesterday at work that I as soon as I walked into my house I  immediately grabbed the double-stuffed Oreos and a big glass of milk and sat at my dining room table staring at the wall devouring them for a good 15 minutes.

So what if my driveway now looks like this. I don't wanna talk about it.

So what if I really want some Jello. Like... the kind you make for kids, you know... without the booze in it? I haven't had non-spiked jello in a long time. Is this normal? Do people eat plain jello past the age of 6???

So what if I'm a little bit jealous that my mom moved salons and her new one is right next to a Japanese steakhouse!  Do you know how tubby I would be if I had access to hibachi all day every day?!

So what if I was out this weekend and someone told me "you just make friends everywhere you go, don't you?!" I was talking about the time some random dude in Cali let me to take a spin on his Segway (side note: I ALWAYS forget the name of those & want to call them hover'rounds HA!) Yes... yes I do make friends. You can never have too many, and it is esp nice when they live in other states & countries!

So what if I I think I need to start a series in which I share random vacation stories on the blog! The other night, I came across pictures from the week in the Dominican Republic where we found great entertainment in constantly pranking these Swiss fellows that we met.

Questions & Answers : The Randoms

I'm finally getting a chance to post the last round of questions & answers from you all! I hope you guys got the answers you were hankerin for, it was a fun little chance for me to tell you about things I don't always think to blog about!

1. Chunky or creamy peanut butter? from Lacey
Definitely creamy. Chelsea no like chunky (side note: I spell definitely wrong every time I type it. EVERY time. Always a guaranteed red squiggly)

2. Do you drink rice/soy/almond milk or regular? from Lacey
Oh, plain jane here. Regular ol milk. 2% if you wanna get really personal!

3. What's your absolute favorite thing to do on a Saturday morning? from ~Haley~
Roll outta bed around 8-830 (I hate sleeping my days away), play with pup for a bit, enjoy a cup of coffee and then head out to the antique malls! Saturdays are usually crowded but I love the thrill of the hunt... most of my house is decorated with"old crap" as I lovingly refer to it=)

4. What's your favorite animal? from ~Haley~
How about top 3 -- Donkeys, Parrots & Polar Bears.

5. Besides Pinterest, where to get most of your crafting inspiration? from undomestic chica
I am are the queen of "I can make that myself!" I get a lot of inspiration from the 'made in Taiwan' things I see in stores. (Nothing against Taiwan...) I go into Pier1 or Anthropologie and walk out with 900 ideas of things to make

6 .I AM curious...what shampoo do you use? From Michabella
I'm not picky, but I am a hair product snob. My mom is a hairstylist so I only use salon brands but typically it's just whichever one she brings home for me! Right now I alternate between BedHeads' EpicVolume or Joico's Smooth Cure

7. What's your favorite beauty product? From Michabella
Johnson & Johnson baby oil. I use it every time I get outta the shower. I love the smell, love how cheap it is, love how soft it keeps my skin!

8. What can't you leave the house without (makeup/jewelry-wise). From Michabella
I don't really wear a ton of makeup, and am fine leaving the house without it.... but typically I'll throw mascara on atleast. Jewelry-wise, I almost ALWAYS have a watch on

9. What is your favorite movie? from Mateya
Easy. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. One of the ONLY movies I can watch over & over. Also at the top of my list: Dirty Dancing, Grease, Devil Wears Prada, and most other MattyMc movies

10. When are going to come to the farm and see me? :)  from Mateya
Whenever you invite me. Or whenever it's harvest time, so I get to ride in a combine and make hay cinnamon rolls. Whichever comes first

11. How about top 3 most-played songs on your ipod/itunes? from Crystal
Figures that I don't have my ipod on me today... please hold. I will have to update this later!

12. Who is your best friend and what did she get you for your birthday? :) from Jenn
Her name is Jenn, she lives in Las Vegas and she sent me a lot of minty chocolate candy (but not the tainted kind) and Martha and a little portion of a RT on a RedBelly!

13. Bang, Marry, Shovel: Matthew Mcconaughey, Brad Pitt, Prince William from Chelsea
Oh easy! Marry Prince William (what...  Michelle says I look like Pippa, and we all saw those two flirting like crazy at big brothers wedding), Bang MattyMc, shovel Brad Pitt (soo not an Angelina fan)

14. What's on your Christmas list for this year? from Chelsea
Eh I'm not a very good list maker. If it sparkles or makes me laugh, I'll take 2.  Please and thankyou

15. What item can you not live without?  from Amanda
Food. duh ;) I'd get pretty bored without spray paint or my sewing machine though. Not having a car would suck...

16. Do you enjoy reading, if so what's your favorite book? from Adrian
I love reading! When I go on vacation I have to take like 4books because all I do all day long is read while laying out (and I read SUPER fast!). I love Dan Brown books, I love silly chick lit, I love Chuck Palahniuk

17. If you could move anywhere in the US, where would it be? from Kelly
One time we were in Myrtle Beach and drove down to Charleston, SC for the day. Absolutely fell in love with it. I also made it out to SoCal this summer for a quick wkend trip but I could totally see myself fittin in there too.

I'm pretty content with Indy though, I don't see myself goin anywhere!

18. if you could be any animal in the world, what would you be? From Michabella
Some sort of fish or bird, that has free roam to go anywhere I wanted.

MICKEY MOUSE!!! Oh wait... I'm supposed to say you aren't I?

22. One celebrity guy, just one, who's going to be your number one pick? from Marian
Matthew McConaughey. As if you really had to ask. Or wait, I forgot about Ryan Gosling. Crap.
