Mixer & Mingle Fridays: A toast

Last night, as all 19 of us were crowded into a mass of pulled together tables and chairs at my favorite hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant, enjoying our margaritas and yelling stories across the tables my uncle Leo busted out his famous toast;

Here's to it, and to it again. For if you don't do it, when you get to it, you may never get to it, to do it again.

I can't tell you how many times in my life I've heard those words come out of his mouth, but I still love 'em each and every time! Do any of you guys have a 'signature' toast??

My Pawpaw always used to toast this before any big occasion and now I enjoy doing it!!! <3 "I would like to make a toast to lying, stealing, cheating and drinking. If you're going to lie, lie for a friend. If you're going to steal, steal a heart. If your going to cheat, cheat death. And if you're going to drink, drink with me."

Amazinggggg! What a great toast. I had to re-read it a couple of times though because I wasn't quite sure about what it all meant, but I like it. Now I need to come up with a toast of my own.

Here's to southern women in their high heeled shoes they can talk real rough and drink strong booze but when they get to flirting and talking sweet they can make things stand that have no feet

I had to read it a few time too, never heard it. I don't have a signature toast, but do have a signature toast "move". A very good friend's dad taught me to tap my glass or can on the table after "cheers" and before taking a drink to remember the friends who aren't there to toast with, like friends/family members who've passed away. It makes me sad to do it, but also happy. It truly does make me stop to remember those special people. Actually I think of the same person each time I do it. :)

Anyhow, looks like you had a great way to celebrate!
