Thoughts on baking

Whenever I bring baked goods somewhere the most common response is "where do you come up with these recipes?!"

To be honest... I'm a haphazard baker. I get wild ideas and just start adding ingredients together.

And at $1 for cake mix or just a tad more for separate ingredients, it's not really a costly experiment!

I never perfectly measure my ingredients... and my idea of 'sifting ingredients together' is using a whisk to stir them in the bowl. I almost always forget to set cream cheese or butter out ahead of time, and end up nuking it to "room temperature" and sometimes I even cheat and bump the oven temp up 5 degrees to knock a few minutes off the bake time.

It's fun though... and it doesn't have to be perfect. 9 times outta 10 they still come out tasting JUST fine!

I love taking someone's favorite thing, and turning it into a little bite size dessert! Whether that be their favorite cocktail (I've made pina colada cupcakes, and (a personal favorite of mine) Red Stag cupcakes with Dr Pepper icing) or their favorite treat (chocolate covered cherry cupcakes, chocolate chip cookie dough cupcakes or Oreo cupcakes)

Baking is one of my favorite hobbies! It's a stress reliever for me, and I find myself doing it at least once a week anymore! Now I just need to find more taste-testers so I don't end up eating half of the batch myself HA! Who wants to volunteer?!
