Mixer & Mingle Friday: Jello Shots

If you haven't noticed... jello shots are something I consider myself a bit of a connoisseur of.

I can't even count how many times I make jello shots in a year. They're such easy, portable, fun little drinks... no one ever turns a jello shot down!

Plus they are an easy way to use up flavored liquor that you aren't sure how to use in cocktails!
In honor of 4th of July I'm gonna share my red & blue jello shot recipes that I had made for the concert last weekend.

I always make double batches,

Blue Jello Shots:
2 boxes Berry Blue Jello
2 cups of Pucker Grape Vodka
(I have also made these with Bacardi Arctic Grape Rum and Absolut Berri Acai... both are equally delicious!)
2 cups boiling water

Red Jello Shots:
2 boxes Strawberry Jello
2 cups of Pinnacle Orange Whipped Vodka
(I have also made these with Pinnacle Tropical Punch and Cruzan Banana Rum... again, both are equally delicious!)
2 cups boiling water

Easy Peasy Directions

Boil the 2 c. water, pour into a large glass measuring cup (or anything else with pourable spout), add your 2 boxes of jello, stir for 2 minutes until disolved, pour in vodka. Pour into 2oz plastic cups, place cookie sheet of cups in the fridge to cool!
**If you only want to make one box worth, approx 20some jello shots, your measurements are 1+1+1 (but still stir for 2!)

A lot of people ask where I get my cups - we have found them at both Party City and GFS, I personally prefer these because they are sturdy plastic and have lids... much easier to transport than dixie cups!

What are your favorite jello shot combos??

**UPDATED: Miss Lindsey just shared the genius tip of spraying your cups with cooking spray, so your shots slide right out- avoiding colored fingers and wasted jello!

love me some jello shots. for a long time my dad thought i could only make/cook 2 things - guacomole, and jello shots! i mean i try and keep it classy!

do you spray the insides of your cups with cooking spray?! the jello comes RIGHT out and there is no wasted deliciousness... [and no you can't taste the spray]

I'm usually not a jello shot kind of girl, but yours sound really good! I'm liking the idea of using the flavored vodka (or such)!

I've never tried a Jello shot (maybe because I'm 19) but I don't even know how to take one! it seems like it would be so hard!

I use a turkey baster to avoid spilling. ;) Because I was once 23, living by myself, completely undomestic and owned a turkey baster and made jello shots on the regular.

Okay why didn't I read this yesterday? My hubby and I were thinking of making them but when we both never had we decided against it but it is totally EASY!
