They always make it look so easy

Once upon a time I stumbled upon a do-this-then-sleep-on-it-and-wake-up-with-perfect-curly-hair tutorial on Pinterest, excitedly I decided to give it a shot.

I wrapped & twisted my hair around my stretchy headband that night before bed (I actually already owned the same kind the girl who did the tutorial used! A sure sign this would turn out perfectly... Right?!)

I woke up the next morning with a frazzled mess that looked just like the teacher lady said it would

"Perfect!" I thought to myself, "today is gonna be a good day!!"

Annnnd I really believed that, as I started untwisting the headband out of my hair.

All the way up until I looked in the mirror...

What a hot mess.

Moral of the story: don't believe everything you see on Pinterest.

What a hot mess haha you're so funny. Also, is that a TJ Maxx tag I see miss?

Haha!! At least you tried ....

And ... did you forget to take a tag off of your dress/top!?!

i tried this, too! the hair around my face turned out all right but the back was frizzy/tangled/crinkly. i ended up having to use my curling iron anyway to fix it :-/

Ahhh too bad it wasnt really that easy. :(

I tried this and got the headband tangled in my really long, really thick hair. It ended up taking me over an hour to get it out. Not impressed...

Actually, it doesn't look that bad. I'm kind of impressed. And I hope you read Aly's comment about your tag on your dress before heading out the door. ;)

I think your hair looks good. I want to do the braid ones, but I never can.

Dang hot mess is right.

Just add a little hair spray, scrunch it and your good to go! Cute dress btw. You still have the tag on it. ;)

But yes...the moral of the story is true. Not everything works. xoxo

I think the hair looks cute. All you need was a little hairspray.

Maybe I will have to try this...

I saw that this happened to another blogger. She suggested putting gel or some type of frizz control in before hand.

I'm pretty sure that headband thing wouldn't have lasted the night on my head. I would have had to worn some sort of cap for extra protection;)

Did you try using any pomade or goo to make the "fly aways" go away?

So sorry to hear it didn't work.

I like it!! I think it looks great, honestly!!

At least you tried it! I keep tagging things to try, but haven't gotten around to it. I will note not to try this one :)

Aw! I've tried so many hair things that haven't worked out, I'm totally sympathetic.

I tried it too! It worked but I had to touch it up. But my hair has lots of waves so that helped I'm sure!

Too funny. I know the feeling. I think I will try this though.

Pictorials are never as easy as they appear! I hate when that happens!

Bwahahahahahahahaha. By the way is that a tag hanging off your dress/shirt? I hope it was removed before heading off for the day LOL If, that in fact, is what it is?!

AMEN! I tried the sockbun curl (found on Pinterest as well) and it was SUCH a hot mess. Bummer. Lesson learned! ;-)
