Top 2 Tuesday : Dream Homes

Top 2 Dream Houses.... what a perfect topic considering I've recently started looking at houses! I knew immediately what my #1 was going to be! Ladies, behold... my "if I had a million dollars" home....

What? Not exactly what you were expecting?! This house is actually on the market for only $99k, it's in the area of downtown Indy that I am in LOVE with (I beg ChrisChris to drive down a few choice streets just so I can see all the houses)... it's full of charming old houses. I would love to buy this old beaut, but I think she needs a LITTLE more work than I would be able to give her right now! Can't you just imagine what it looked like in it's prime?! Gorgeous.

My number 2 would be one of HGTV's dream homes... preferably this one. I think it was 2009's - can anyone confirm?
I die for wrap around porches (my parents home has one) The only downside, I don't want to live in California! If I can't have this gorgeous piece of land in... say.... Charleston, South Carolina or Jamaica/Dominican Republic... then I want it right here in Indiana. What good is a beautiful house if you can't enjoy it with your family and friends?!

Would you all come visit me in my new home!?

Mixer & Mingle Fridays : Chocovine

So, shoot me. But this week's Mixer & Mingle actually has no mixer. But hey now, don't go hitting the "x" button just yet... it's definitely worth your time! A few weeks ago miss Aly over at AnALYze This introduced me demanded that I try ChocoVine.
Chocovine is a "Dutch chocolate mixed with fine Cabernet wine" according to their website
but according to Aly (and myself!) it's grown-up chocolate milk!

I was skeptical, but picked it up from the liquor store shortly after my life was threatened if I didn't try it (ok, slight exaggeration) and had myself a glass that evening. And let me tell you... I didn't hate it! It reminds me of a mudslide, but with the face-flushing effects of wine!

I have never been much of a wine drinker, but this is a nice "baby steps" wine.

For this weeks Mingle I'm wondering what everyone's Guilty Pleasure song is... you know, the song that you roll your windows up, turn up the volume and sing your heart out....

I've got a handful of these, any Marley or Petty song for sure, Nelly is always a fun one to sing (although the older I get, the more I realize that I don't even know the real words to the song, and the lyrics I sing are WAAYY off!) I'm also a fan of Carrie Underwood's Before He Cheats and my very favorite would be Kelly Pickler's Red High Heels!

Sneaky

I love sneaking random surprises into my friends lives.... sometimes it's not so easy to surprise mister ChrisChris though. He just knows me too well and can tell when I am up to something!!
I pulled one over on him yesterday though! A few weeks ago we were at the Lucky store and he was eyeing these t-shirts they had but they didn't have his size so he just kinda moved on and forgot about it.

Last week, I got on their site and ordered them online and had them shipped straight to his condo. I got a text from him with this picture yesterday about 2 in the afternoon...

It couldn't have come on a more perfect day either - he had a rotten start, with a no-call-back from an interview and a condo-situation (story for another post) weighing heavy on his mind.

I just love sending completely unexpected things to those I love! Whether it be random flowers to my mom or a friend, a surprise gift card to congratulate on a new home or whatever.

What has been your favorite random gift that you've recieved? What about something that you sent?

Every once in a blue moon ChrisChris will be waiting at my work when I get off, with an iced coffee in hand. I know it's not a huge elaborate gift or surprise but it makes me happy when I walk out of my office and see him! Like I always say, I'm a pretty lucky lil lady!

I've learned...

About a year ago, I actually started writing on my blog. Yep, you can see my first post here if you'd like!
So here we are 12 months, 177 posts and 108 109 followers later and WOW I've learned a lot!

I've learned that when one of my invisible friends hurts, I hurt. Whether it's because of a deployment, disaster, a breakup or the loss of a loved on....

I've learned that when one of my invisible friends is excited, I am excited for them too. Be it a blind date, an engagement, a new job, the list goes on....

I've learned that if something is bothering me, there's a good chance one of you has gone through it and can lend some advice...

I've learned that if I need a pick-me-up, blogger is the place to turn. One of you is bound to offer me kind words or say something to make me break into a smile....

I've learned that if I want straight-from-the-eyes-of-a-witness news, I turn to my Google Reader instead of the news, I've seen more in a weekend of blog posts about world events than I could ever hear on the news!

I've learned that even though I've never met 99% of you in real life, even though we've never exchanged a phone call or even text messages, and to be honest I probably wouldn't recognize your voice or your maybe even your face if we crossed paths.... I've learned that I care about you, and I feel like ya'll care about me too! And that's pretty cool....

Not trying to get all mushy gushy, just wanted to say thanks and I kinda like you guys!
