A few weeks ago I fell down my stairs.
Yes, my middle name should be grace.
I was three steps away from the bottom and somehow managed the most dramatic fall known to man, bruising my entire arm and landing in a "dead body outline" position on my dining room floor around the corner. I still have a black and blue arm.
Then twice this past month the doorknob in my bathroom has fallen off. This bathroom is in the middle of my home. Meaning there are no windows, no "escape routes". You guys, I was nearly locked in my bathroom twice.
While hilarious, do you realize no one would have ANY clue unless the just so happened to stop by. I'd just be chilling in my bathroom for hours on end. Or all paralyzed on my stairs.
And believe me, my dog is no ancestor of Lassie. There would be no 'rescuing Timmy from the well' happening with that pup.
I asked my mom to start texting me every twelve hours to ensure I'm not dead after a freak fall or locked in a bathroom. And to immediately come to my house if I don't reply. She laughed. And then proceeded to text me this morning to check that I had made it to work.
Or maybe I just need to invest in one of those LifeAlert necklaces. I wouldn't mind some hot firefighters in my life.

I often wonder how long I'd lie on the floor dead before anyone would notice. You can't take this stuff lightly.
I'm right there with ya! I fell down the stairs while Kyle was at work and it was awful.
I'm sorry but I just have to laugh at the way you wrote this tis hysterical. All kidding aside I am glad you are okay!
Girl, I think we need to live near each other so we can check up on one another every day! I'm always doing stuff like that to myself -- on a normal day, I have more bruises than I can count haha
Glad you walked away with just some bruising though!
Might need to invest in that.. I'm a clumsy person as well and can see myself needing one if I lived alone...
I of course didn't mean to laugh at this, but it was hard not to! I'm the same way... such a klutz! Sometimes I think if I lived alone I would for sure need someone checking in on me on the reg! ;)
When I was living alone, I kept falling in the tub! It sounds so minor but I fell so badly about three times that I would literally have to lay there for quite a significant amount of time waiting to get my breath back to try to move again! I started keeping my phone with me more often - and my coworkers were so nervous that they made me vow to always take my phone into my bathroom.
OMG!!! Chels, so sorry!!! Glad it wasn't anything too serious! I def think you should get life alert <3
will you be my life alert necklace?
BAHAHAHAHA! OMG! This is totally me. :) Thank goodness all the rooms in our house have windows.
I'm sorry but I can't help but laugh at this! I work with elderly people who I supply life alerts to each month. Maybe I can ship one your way ;)
Gah! Be careful, girl!
A group of friends and I already decided that when we're older, and have our LifeAlert necklaces we'll press them occasionally just to see how hot the first responders are. (Of course, Karma will probably bite us in the ass for "crying wolf" too many times, but oh so worth it! Haha!)
a few weeks ago, my hubs said he was going to get me life alert. i was home alone and busted my arse on the tile floor. glad i'm not the only graceful one around here!
Lol!! If I had a dollar for every time I fell down the stairs growing up...or got locked in our downstairs bathroom...
Seriously, I just moved back home with my family, but for the last year and a half while I was living on my own I would worry about this to no end, so much so that my family started checking in with me every few hours to make sure I was alive and well. Glad you're okay!
And get that doorknob fixed! A few years ago, while staying at my exes parents house for a wedding, I got up to use the bathroom at about 3am, and forgot they had told me the doornknob wasnt working properly and to just not shut the door when I used the toilet, which was fine because the toilet/shower was in a room within a room, so I could shut the first exterior door and not need to close the second one...anyway, it was 3am, i was barely awake and i forgot all about their warning. I then proceeded to spend 3 and a half hours crying on the bathmat after exhausting myself from yelling for help and banging on the walls for someone to hear me. finally his parents woke up , heard me crying and had to break me out of the room.Yep...now I always take my phone with me to the bathroom. i don't even care how gross that is. (ok yes, i do, but i am too worried to not)
